Intro to Basics I, II & III
   
This class is for the beginner who has never belly danced. An introduction to the belly dance basics will be covered in 3 consecutive classes. Basic hip, shoulder, chest, and stomach accents, shimmies, and undulations will be introduced.   Participants are not expected to master these moves in 3 classes but they should at least be comfortable with the posture and understand the movements before moving on. If the participant is not ready for the next level, we recommend they take the 3 Intro classes a second time. All participants must complete these 3 classes at least once before proceeding to the Combinations classes. These 3 classes are offered regularly at various locations. Please refer to the Schedule for upcoming classes.
 
Combinations Level I
Offered in 6 and 8 week sessions.  The first three classes of this session will be Intro to Basics I, II, III.  Beginner and Intermediate movements will be taught and reviewed in detail with the purpose of performing them in a series of combination.  Schedule
 
Combinations Level II
Intermediate and Advanced movements will be taught and reviewed in detail with the purpose of performing them in a series of combinations.  Schedule
 
Stylistic Choreography and Technique
This class is not for beginners. A solid foundation and knowledge of belly dancing is required in order to take this class. In this class, different belly dance styles will be explored including folklore and dances with the veil. An elaboration on movements will be discussed, as well as some history and trends in belly dancing from around the world. Although choreographies will be prepared with the purpose of performing, a performance is not mandatory.
